Of square, tapered form, the waist decorated on each facet with an archaistic taotie mask, each side of the flared neck and foot with a continuous pattern of archaistic, stylised leaf-shaped lappets interspersed with lotus blossoms and leafy tendrils, all between key-fret borders on the protruding flanges and at the gilt mouth and foot rims, with lotus sprays on the interior of the mouth, aperture to the base
