A COMPOSITE ITALIAN QUILLON DAGGER
The blade 17th Century, the hilt 19th Century
With rapier blade pierced with slots and circles within the three fullers (pitted), the hilt cast in relief with caryatids and battle scenes, with quillons cast in the round as fauns entwined with serpents and inscribed with the spurious date 1529, the pommel en suite, and with fluted rock-crystal grip.
