A CONTINENTAL SILVER-MOUNTED AND IVORY TANKARD**
Probably German, late 19th century
The silver base, lid and handle with chased decoration incorporating putti and scrolling foliage, the ivory central section carved in high relief with a continuous bacchanalian scene including satyrs, bacchante, animals and figures in chariots, the cover with a carved ivory finial formed as two putti, marked under the base with prestige marks
