Lot Essay

This aquamanile is virtually identical to an example in the Nationalmuseum, Munich (see Falke and Meyer, loc. cit.). The positioning of the spout, the inclusion of glass eyes (in the Munich example), the length, and details of the facture are the only evident differences.
