A CORINTHIAN BRONZE HELMET
Circa 6th Century B.C.
Hammered from a single sheet of heavy bronze, of domed form, the flaring neck guard notched at the shoulders, the cheek-pieces pointed, the almond-shaped eye holes and long projecting nose guard finely contoured, the slightly darker perimeter pierced with multiple holes for attachment of a lining, three additional perforations on the crown and reverse for attachment of a crest
