Lot Essay

Carl Eduard Herzog von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha (1884-1954) was born Charles Edward, Duke of Albany, a grandson of Queen Victoria. He succeeded his uncle Alfred I. Herzog von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha, who died without issue in 1900.
