Woven with an overall pattern of meandering floral bouquets within a floral border between strapwork bands, embroidered in red with initial E beneath a royal crown and above date 1847

The embroidered initial E stands for Ernst II Duke of Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha, he succeeded his father Ernst I in 1844 and ruled until 1893.
