A Deruta lustre two-handled baluster vase
Circa 1525
The upper part with two oval medallions inscribed DIANA.B. and IPOLITA on rectangular labels flanked by foliage above a band of leaves and with radiating gadroons and concentric blue and gold lustre bands to the lower part, on a circular spreading foot with a band of stiff leaves (a large piece broken from rim and filled with a restored replacement, an associated extended crack towards the middle of the vase spreading to both sides and with four small areas of restoration to glaze, one handle restored, the foot broken and repaired, some minor flaking to glaze)
