A Dutch mahogany, fruitwood and marquetry secretaire a abattant
Late 18th Century
Inlaid overall with cut-cornered panels, the eared canted rectangular top with raised rim, above a simulated dentilled rim and hinged fall-front centred by a shell-motif within an oval, with a green velvet-lined writing-surface to the reverse, enclosing a fitted interior with six variously-sized open compartments, a central sliding door and six drawers, above a pair of doors inlaid conformingly, enclosing a plain interior with one shelf, flanked by fluted pilasters, on square tapering legs, minor losses
