A 'FAUX BRONZE' PORCELAIN CENSER AND A 'FAUX JADE' PORCELAIN CENSER
19TH-20TH CENTURY
The first tripod censer is moulded with leaf-shaped upright panels enclosing dragons against a worked ground in imitation of bronze. It is applied with two dragon handles. The second archaistic censer is moulded with a band of taotie masks and applied with two monster-head handles. It is covered in a pale green glaze with dark and russet veins simulating jade. Both censers have apocryphal Qianlong seal marks to the base.
The largest 4 ½ in. (11.3 cm.) wide
