A FINE AND RARE IMPERIAL BEIJING ENAMEL BOWL
BLUE ENAMEL KANGXI YUZHI MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE SQUARE AND OF THE PERIOD

The deep bowl has rounded sides and stands on a low, slightly flared, foot, finely enamelled in brilliant famille rose tones with four full peony blossoms picked out in pink, blue and pale green, borne on leafy scrolls issuing smaller flowers, a few dry leaves naturalistically edged in brown, all against a bright lemon-yellow ground, the interior enamelled a pale blue and the mouth rim and foot bound by a copper band

No other bowl of this design appears to be published. Compare with a Beijing enamel teapot with a Kangxi yuzhi mark and similarly painted flowers with the same stippled effect, illustrated by H. Moss, By Imperial Command, vol. 1, pl. 15.
