Lot Essay

This parure was given to Princess Maria José as a wedding present from her parents. She wore it two days before her marriage to the Crown Prince, at the reception in the Royal Palace, on 6 January 1930. The necklace was mounted as a bandeau in the fashion of the period and the Milanese fashion house Ventura created a Royal train, embroidered in silver thread with flowers entwined with the Savoy knot, to match the parure (as illustrated)
