A fine Bijar carpet, North-West Persia
The brick-red field with stylised polychrome herati pattern around bold deep indigo medallion with palmette pendants containing floral sprays enclosing dusky-pink floral centrepiece, spandrels similar, in shaded indigo border of stylised turtle-palmettes and angular floral vine between brick-red similar wide stripes, outer floral meander and plain stripes, minute repair at one end otherwise very good condition
