A FINE FAMILLE ROSE 'SANDUO' BOWL JIAQING SIX-CHARACTER SEALMARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1796-1820) Well potted with straight sides and finely enamelled with the Three Abundances comprising fruiting sprigs of peaches, pomegranates and lychees 6 in. (15.2 cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

A Jiaqing-marked bowl of this pattern was included in the exhibition Ch'ing Porcelain from the Wah Kwong Collection, Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1973, illustrated in the Catalogue, no. 106; as well as in the Hong Kong O. C. S. Exhibition of Ch'ing Polychrome Porcelain, 1977, Catalogue no. 86; and subsequently included in The Powell-Cotton Collection of Chinese Ceramics, Birchington, England, 1988, col. pl. 16, no. 105, where it is illustrated together with the Qianlong prototype, no. 88. Similar bowls have also been sold at auction, such as the example sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 27 April 2003, lot 196.
