Cartouche form, the cover applied with a rose-diamond set and black enamel Arabic name, Esma'eil, within an oval frame of pastes, the trelliswork surround set with rose-cut diamonds enclosing pastes, the sides finely chiseled and matted with scrolling foliage, the base finely engraved and matted with similar ornament, marked on bezel with French post-1840 export hallmark and maker's mark in a lozenge
