FROM 1733), MARKED, WITH THE LONDON ASSAY OFFICE MARK 1739-1756, THE ENGLISH STANDARD MARK FOR 22-CARAT GOLD 1739-1756, LONDON DATE LETTER 'P' FOR MAY 1750 - MAY 1751 Cartouche-shaped box, the matted gold cover boldly chased and embossed with a scene depicting the crowning of Hope by Chronos, and Humility represented by a lamb embraced by Cupid, within polished reeded c-scrolls, foliage and shells, raised thumbpiece, the polished gold sides chased with reserves depicting flowers, shells and reeded c-scrolls, the base similarly chased on a sablé ground 2 7/8 in. (73 mm.) wide 4 oz. (116 gr.)
