A FINE GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF A BODHISATTVA
Ming dynasty (1368-1644)
Cast seated in dhyanasana with hands clasped together in abhiseka mudra, dressed in loose flowing robes open at the chest, displaying a wan emblem and falling in deep folds onto the flat circular base, the borders of the robes and headdress ribbons incised with floral motifs, the rounded face with downcast eyes, wearing a five-tiered tiara around his tightly curled hair, the soles of his feet with a lightly incised chakra, the circular stand a multi-tiered lotus throne above a spreading foot worked as an openwork scrolling vine, some repairs, fatigue crack to rear
