The treble-grip action-bodies with side-clips, non-selective single-triggers, manual safeties, the fences deeply carved with foliage and fruit, the action-bodies, lockplates and furniture profusely engraved with bold acanthus scrolls on a matt ground, with full colour-hardened and blued finish, cocking-indicators, well-figured stocks with pistolgrips and recoil-pads, beavertail forends, the chopper-lump barrels with matt ventilated top-ribs and intermediate bead-sights
Weight 7lb. 8oz., 15in. pulls, 28in. barrels, choke approx. I.C. & .5/8 (No.1) and .5/8 & extra-full (No.2), 2in. chambers, nitro proof

Lot Essay

The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed circa 1967. They appear to have been very little used. The engraver, Geoffrey Casbard, is one of the world's foremost artist-engravers and, with Ken Hunt, the direct inheritor of the Kell tradition of engraving
