With shallow rounded sides, the interior with a medallion of an iron-red lotus encircled by conjoined openwork ruyi heads, the exterior with a band of detached iron-red lotus sprays and formalised ruyi and foliate motifs, all within blue double-line borders

Larger dishes of this pattern are known, the first is in the collection of the National Palace Museum, Taipei, illustrated in Illustrated Catalogues of Ch'ing Dynasty Porcelain in the National Place Museum, vol. 1, Tokyo, 1980, pl. 92; the second, from the Scheinman Collection, was sold at Christie's New York, 23 March 1995, lot 124; and another was sold at Christie's New York, 24 March 2004, lot 246.
