A finely engineered and well presented 1in:1ft scale exhibition standard single cylinder four pillar table engine originally built by R.Napier & Co. Glasgow 1853 and modelled by A.E.Marsden, Fitter, Oldham, 1983. Measurements overall -- 15¾ x 12½in (40 x 31.8cm) With cylinder approx 5/8in bore x 1½in stroke, centrally mounted valve chest with separate steamways, dummy cylinder head mounted displacement lubricator, inlet pipework with mainstop valve, lift-off eccentric rod with valve counter balance weight, studded stuffing boxes, barrelled connecting rods with jibbed and cottered big and little ends, waisted crank, gear driven watt type governor, linkage and valve, round rimmed spoked flywheel and pinion driven output shaft with wall mounted bearing. Further details include planked floor, flywheel pit and simulated stone engine house rear wall. Finished in maroon and polished brightwork. Glazed case; and a foot pump and compressed air tank
