A FRANCO-FLEMISH RELIGIOUS TAPESTRY
Late 15th early 16th Century
Woven in wools and metal-thread, depicting four apostles, one St. Peter holding a key and a book, another St. Andrew holding a cross and a book, another St. John holding a chalice and the last St. Bartholomew holding a knife and a book, all before an open landscape and in an arcaded recess with pilaster divides, the panel vertically cut and reattached and previously probably depciting all twelve apostles, reweaving and patching
2 ft. 7 in. x 13 ft. 4 in. (75 cm. x 406 cm.)
