A French black slate mantel clock
Retailed by Bryson & Son, Perth, late 19th Century
The circular case above a scroll base and stepped rectangular plinth, incised with gilt heightened trailing foliage and inset with malachite veneers, inscribed to the base Presented to the Rev. D.James Robertson M.A. Whittinghame, by his parishioners on the occasion of his marriage, 30th June 1895, the white enamel Roman dial with blued steel spade hands, with visible Brocot escapement and inscribed Bryson & Son, Perth, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell, the backplate stamped MARTI ET CIE, 8953, further marked H.P. & Co. 3017
