A French electroplated jewellery casket
Late 19th Century
The octagonal hinged lid decorated in relief with a courting couple in a landscape, the front and back with ribbon-tied quiver, bow and arrow, opening to a silk-lined interior, the case centred to the front and back by a strapwork cartouche flanked to each side by a seated putto holding flowers, the sides with acanthus-cast handles, the apron with masks to the sides, on paw feet each surmounted by a scrolling acanthus leaf
9 in. (23 cm.) high; 16 in. (41 cm.) wide; 9 in. (23 cm.) deep
