A French gilt-brass and porcelain-mounted small striking carriage clock
No.1450. Circa 1880
The cannelee case mounted with pink porcelain panels to the sides and rear door, each painted with an amorino within lined gilt borders, one with arrow and torch, another swinging from a branch and the other clutching an amphora, the conforming dial with white enamel jewelled borders and painted with two cherubs and with butterflies to the spandrels, with Roman chapter ring and blued steel hands, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to lever escapement with bimetallic balance, with strike on gong to the back plate numbered 1450, with repeat number to the underside of the case
