The tapering case with shell, dove and flower mounts surmounted by a fruiting urn finial and flanked by figures of classical maidens holding seasonal attributes, on base inset with painted porcelain panels depicting birds, rustic symbols and a group in 18th century costume beside a pond, the breakfront plinth with gadrooned and bellflower cast border and on toupie feet, the porcelain dial with gilt-heightened pink chapter ring with individual Roman chapters and painted with a landscape to the centre, twin barrel movement with strike on bell stamped on the backplate for C&S and 7524
