Lot Essay

This console is a replica of the famous original designed and carved circa 1713 by Jules Degoullons (1671-1737) and supplied to Charles-Henri II de Malon de Bercy. That console was for the grand cabinet in the Château de Bercy and is now in the collections of the Louvre (B. Pallot, Furniture Collections in the Louvre, Dijon, 1993, vol. 2, no. 7, pp. 40-41)
