Depicting Ariadne wearing a lion pelt and holding a fruit-filled cornucopiae, seated in a chariot drawn by two putti, with two further putti pushing from behind, the chariot wheel as the clock, with blue and white enamel roman numerals, on a shaped naturalistic base inscribed Carrier-Belleuse, on a conforming ormolu-mounted red marble plinth, the front with a panel raised in relief with a procession of bacchanalian putti
