Surmounted by a 'D'-shaped bleu Turquin marble top, above a frieze with flower garlands, the front fitted with a drawer, on four circular tapering legs, joined by a lower shelf surmounted by a three-quarter pierced gallery, on foliate sabots; the carcass stamped H. NELSON under the marble top

Lot Essay

Nelson established his business 46, rue de la Madelaine in 1856. His son Henri relocated the shop 79, boulevard Haussmann; 2, rue Tronson-du-Coudray; and finally 27, rue Pasquier in 1870. The business continues to this day.
