Painted in a delicate hand with a rural landscape, sheep and cattle grazing beside a stream in the foreground, a pair of figures on a path leading towards the walled manor in the background, a lone figure seated on a hill in the center

Lot Essay

The 'Mademoiselle de Laneuville' recorded as a painter at Sèvres in 1807 and 1810 is very likely the Aline de la Neuville whose careful signature and the date 1809 are found on the lower right corner of the present plaque.
