The hood with openwork cresting centred by a heart, above painted wood frieze panel depicting a rustic canal scene, two further painted panels to each side, the tail with repousse brass vase mount to the lenticle, the painted iron dial with arcaded chapter ring, brass hands with alarm setting disc, domestic interior scene below with uncalibrated brass 'automaton' clock dial, the short duration two train movement with typical baluster columns, anchor escapement and large countwheel, Dutch striking on bell above and on gong to backboard, with alarm on further bell
