The case of typical form, the hood surmounted by giltwood figural finials (Atlas lacking), the wooden back plate with a pierced hexagonal star, the polychrome painted iron dial with Roman and Arabic chapter ring the arch decorated with sailing ships, the reverse of the dial inscribed W and indistinctly dated brass hands, repoussé brass spandrels to each corner, the short duration movement with four brass ring turned baluster pillars, verge escapement with integral side-swinging pendulum (altered), outside countwheel with strike and alarm on two bells above; one brass weight
