A George I blue japanned longcase clock
The hood with later reverse glass painted side panels, the trunk door decorated with gilt chinoiserie and the plinth with prancing deer, the 12 in. wide dial with engraved border, mask and foliate spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring, ringed winding holes and square date aperture, original steel hands, the arch with silvered disc signed Jno. (?indistinct) Plumbtree Street/St Giles's, the eight day movement with five ringed pillars, anchor escapement and inside countwheel strike on bell; case redecorated and possibly associated to case, circa 1720 -- 85¾ in. (218 cm.) high
