The pagoda-top hood centred by a silk-backed sound fret and with brass ball-and-spire finials atop fluted pilasters, the sides with silk-backed sound frets within moulded frames, with outset brass stop-fluted columns to the front angles, the breakarch trunk door with moulded frame and flanked by chamfered brass stop-fluted angles, the plinth with concave-cut corner panel and stepped base, raised on further later wavy skirting, the 12 in. brass dial with foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with dot minute track and signed 'Francis Robotham HAMPSTEAD', the matted centre with subsidiary silvered discs for seconds and date, pierced and blued steel hands, the strike/silent ring to the arch also with matted centre, the four-pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell, the pierced fretwork panels in rosewood and probably early 19th century
