Lot Essay

Anthony Hicks could well be a relation of the celebrated late 19th early 20th Century cabinet-maker, James Hicks of Dublin (1886-1936), known for emulating the 18th Century cabinet-maker, William Moore of Dublin. Given its Irish provenance, it is possible that this drum table was made in Ireland, however it does not have any specifically Irish characteristics.
