Maker's mark of Lewis Herne and Francis Butty, London, 1758
The oval base, raised on four scroll feet, chased with a repeating design of C-scrolls and foliage surrounding a cartouche at each side, one engraved with a coat-of-arms, and with two short loop handles at the sides; the cover chased with C-scrolls and flame ornament, surmounted by a loop handle, marked under the base and on the lid. 14in. (36cm.) long overall; 61oz.
