THE BADGE WITH MARK OF ROBERT AND DAVID HENNELL, LONDON, 1795
The badge shaped circular with a central sun motif within a leaf border, below cresting with the legend 'SUN FIRE OFFICE' and above the applied number 20, mounted as the hinged cover of a silver-plate banded wood jug with a insulated interior, applied on each side with a shield, one engraved with a crest, the badge marked on the front
The jug 9 in. (22.9 cm.) high
The crest is that of Pleydell-Bouverie, for Phillip Pleydell-Bouverie, (1821-1890) who was a director of the Sun Fire Office from 1865 until his death in 1890
