A GEORGE III WHITE METAL-MOUNTED SATINWOOD AND MARQUETRY DRESSING-COMMODE, the bowfronted rectangular hinged top crossbanded overall and inlaid with boxwood and kingwood borders, enclosing a mahogany-lined fitted interior with later arched rectangular bevelled mirror to the top above three hinged compartments and three later removable trays above a well, the front with two false drawers and a further mahogany-lined long drawer, simulated as two drawers and previously fitted, above an arched kneehole inlaid with foliate angle- sprays flanked by two short drawers, the sides with central domed floral-paterae ring-handles within a rosette-enriched panel, the spray-headed pilaster-strips upon square tapering legs with Gothic panels and on tapering feet, previously with lifting mirror to the interior, restorations
