The table has a robust palm-and-acanthus wrapped pillar in the manner of 'Pillar and Claw Table' patterns illustrated in George Smith's, Collection of Designs for Household Furniture, 1808, pl. 69. The bacchic lion-monopodium of its tripod 'claw' relate to those of a chair pattern in Thomas Sheraton's Cabinet-Maker, Upholsterer and General Artist's Encyclopaedia, 1804, pl. 12.
