A George IV shaped circular salver with open-work cast and die-stamped and chased mask, shell, vine, floral and foliate border, standing on three open-work shell, floral and scroll feet, the ground decorated with a frieze of rococo flowers, foliage and fruit, incorporating two shield-shaped cartouches within a garter cartouche, one engraved with a crest and motto, the other engraved with an armorial, with extensive presentation inscription to: "Samuel Grimshaw Eskre." by the company of Proprietors of the Mersey and Irwell Navigation, Robert Gainsford, Sheffield 1823 - 10¼in., 22oz.
