A GERMAN LOCKING-GAUNTLET, IN MID-16TH CENTURY STYLE
19th Century
With strongly flared short pointed bracelet cuff with turned roped edge, rotating metacarpal lame shaped over the base of the thumb and fitted with four boxed articulated lames, the forward lame in turn fitted with a plate engaging a turning-pin projecting from the first metacarpal lame, thumb defence of two embossed lames, and studded with domed brass rivets.
