The serpentine-shaped top inlaid with a central panel depicting jeux d'amours, the scrolling acanthus border with embracing Bacchic figures, wild animals and satyr masks, the shaped frieze inlaid with figures supporting Bourbon shields, over tasselled 'embroidered' cloth and flanked by pennant crests over laurel-garlanded hardstone-mounted cartouches, the square tapering legs headed by crown-bearing caryatids and joined by a wavy 'X'-shaped stretcher, on square acanthus-cast feet, with protective glass top
