A German parcel-gilt silver tankard Maker's mark of Johannes Raminger, Augsburg, circa 1670 Cylindrical and on domed spreading base chased with lobes and auricular scrolls, the detachable sleeve repouss and chased with Neptune and Amphritite borne by dolphin and Neired bearing fruit and borne by a sea-horse against a background of coral, the hinged domed cover with applied band chased with scrolls and shells on matted ground, with a detachable baluster finial, bifurcated thumbpiece and auricular scroll handle, marked on foot sleeve, body and cover 8in. (22cm.) high 48ozs. (1,503gr.)
