A German rectangular miniature landscape plaque
19th Century, Berlin or Meissen
Extremely finely painted in the oil-painting-style, decorated in colours with an italianate landscape with a shepherdess leaning against a rock surrounded by sheep and cows, near a river with a shepherd and his flock crossing, with ruins to the background, signed W.E. lower left, the reverse inscribed Nach Philippe Roos genannt Rosa di Tivoli above Werner & Günther à Dresde. in red, and with a very elaborate gilt-metal Louis XVI-style frame applied with floral garlands
