A GHIORDES PART-COTTON PRAYER RUG WEST ANATOLIA, SECOND HALF 18TH CENTURY The shaded indigo field with a pendant floral spray within a floral frame, the stepped pistachio-green mihrab arch with columns of serrated flowerheads, a charcoal-grey cross-panel above and below with stylised cloudband in a multiple white and blackcurrant red striped border of miniature floral motifs between golden yellow and medium blue angular floral spray stripes, areas of wear and corrosion, one or two minor repairs, vertical repair in centre 7ft.7in. x 5ft.1in. (230cm. x 155cm.)
