The following fifty-five lots from the Westwood archive include pieces from each collection within a ten year period. The decade 1985-95 was of huge significance in the career of Vivienne Westwood: without losing her status at the forefront of avant-garde she shed the earlier influences of street style and youth culture in favour of traditional Savile Row tailoring techniques, British fabrics and 17th and 18th century art. She was twice awarded the title of British Designer of the year during this time. Never before has such a comprehensive selection of Westwood costume been seen at auction.
