A gilt bronze figure of Manjushri
Nepal, 15th/16th Century
Seated on a double-lotus base with beaded rims, the hands in dharmachakra mudra, dressed in a diaphanous dhoti incised with floral motifs, wearing multiple necklaces, armlets, and earrings all inlaid with hardstones, the face with downcast eyes and remains of polychromy, the face surmounted with a conical helmet, flanked on either side with a lotus, the right one bearing a book, the base sealed and incised with a vajra
