NEPAL, 18TH CENTURY
The top register of the openwork mandorla worked with addorsed makaras on either side with scrolling tails, rising up to support a central top image of Garuda flanked by flying figures over snakes, the bottom register with bodhisattvas and a griffin over an elephant, all within a border of floral roundels
