GILBERT POILLERAT, DESIGNED 1929, MANUFACTURED BY BAUDET, DONON ET ROUSSEL, CIRCA 1946

This model was first exhibited at the Salon d'Automne, 1929, Paris. The present example was originally made for the townhouse of a private collector near Paris. A Poillerat gilt-wrought iron and marble console from the same commission was sold at Christie's London, May 16, 2001, lot 115.
