A gilt-metal mounted Sevres-style two-handled oviform vase and domed cover
CIRCA 1890, IMITATION SEVRES MARK TO COVER
Painted with a maiden with two winged putti in attendant, garlanded with flowers in a wooded landscape, the reverse with a winged putto holding a dove, the cover and foot painted with devices among swags of flowers above raised gilt scrolls, reserved on a cream-ground with acorn finial, egg and acanthus cast rim and satyr-mask handles, the stem cast with a band of stiff acanthus leaves, the foot with a tied laurel above a square base with canted corners (some damage and restoration)
