A Haniwa Model of A Horse
Late Kofun Period (6th-7th century)
Modelled as a standing horse wearing a saddle, bridle and decorative trappings across its haunches, the mane clipped short and tied in a knot at the forehead, surface of reddish pottery finished in a "comb-tooth" pattern
42in. (107cm.) high
The result of Oxford Authentication Ltd. thermoluminescence test no. N105n73 is consistent with the dating of this lot.
